User interviews and survey responses revealed that many sleep app users struggled to limit screen exposure before bedtime and maintain a consistent sleep routine. Participants reported that features such as bedtime reminders, relaxing music, and sleep stories were the most helpful for falling asleep faster and building better sleep habits.

Challenge met

Since this is an academic project, my professor asked us to include participants outside class. I had trouble finding interviewees, so my professor suggested using a Google Form and sharing it on school platforms or Reddit.

Why i make screens has animated avatar

I chose to use gamification because many young people find traditional sleep-tracking apps boring and difficult to maintain over time. By caring for a virtual frog that grows and thrives when users follow healthy sleep habits, the app creates a stronger emotional connection and provides positive reinforcement. This approach encourages users to return regularly and develop sustainable sleep routines in a fun and engaging way.

Navigating User Insights

I placed my interview findings in a persona, empathy and journey map.

In my persona I have created a visual representation of my target group. Name, personality, frustration, etc. To get a better idea of who I am making my design for and evaluate the pain points.
